Testimonials

We are dedicated to our puppies finding a forever home with you. Please read some past success stories, below.

Valerie is one of those rare individuals who has a passion for her craft, not just a dog breeder but someone who makes and has made time to include us throughout our dog's development. We were kept in the loop about shots, dual claw removal, socializing and introducing our scents before we even got her. 1 year later we still keep in touch through texting or phone calls. Valerie genuinely cares.

I found Valerie through the AKC Marketplace and reached out to her. She had one puppy left of the litter and we spoke on the phone. She had a yellow female puppy left and after talking for a while I decided to put in a deposit. Throughout the next 4 weeks Valerie kept me updated on my puppy with pictures and videos. I was able to learn that although my puppy was the smallest of the litter, she was the most adventurous! Valerie took care to expose the litter to the outdoors, kiddie pools, loud noises like the lawn mower and vacuum, and young children, giving the pups a headstart on socialization. When the time came to pick up, I was able to meet the momma dog and she was the sweetest thing and so well trained. Valerie helped me complete all the registration paperwork for AKC and let me play in the backyard with my puppy. She even gave us cut up pieces of fabric with all their scents to help ease the transition for my little pup.

Fast forward to her turning 1 year old, I regret nothing. Whisper stayed small, much smaller than most Labradors (53lbs at one year old), but her spunky spirit and sense of adventure only grew stronger. She has been the easiest dog in the world to obedience train and is obsessed with swimming and retrieving. Every stranger that interacts with Whisper comments on her agility, her silly personality, and her intelligence. They also stare in aghast whenever she digs and rolls in mud puddles, but I say it‘s a lab thing. Her general physique is athletic with long legs, a lean body, and she is wicked fast (seriously, she keeps up with border collies). Her health has been pretty decent, although she does have several food allergies. She has been such a joy to have and I can't wait to keep having more adventures with her.

I Have known Valerie for about 10 years now. In that time I was able to see how she handled her older lab Dallas. When Felicia (puppy mama) came along, I was able to see Val with her. Val provided a loving and nurturing environment for Felicia. She worked with her from day one. I had had two black labs in the past. I was struck by how loving, docile, and smart Felicia is, not to mention what a great looking dog she is. I told Val I wanted a pup from her first litter. I patiently waited two years for my puppy.

Then May 10, 2020 came! Luckily I live a few miles from Val and I was able to meet the pups when they were only 5 hours old. Having first pick of the litter, I was going to take my time picking out my new family member. I loved them all! I chose the only black male and named him Rocky on the spot. We have been best friends ever since. I was able to spend a lot of time with the puppies. Val treated them as if they were family and Felicia is a wonderful mother. Val always kept the puppies living area clean and warm. She spent all her time with them. She got them used to water, loud noises (lawn movers, etc.) She crate trained them and got them used to riding in vehicles including ATVs. Val made the whole process enjoyable.

Rocky is a wonderful companion. He is intelligent, affectionate, smart, athletic, and completely healthy. On his first birthday he weighed 82 lbs. and has a bit more filling out to do. He is a great looking lab. I have two small dogs and they get along great! And boy, does Rocky love people! Since the day I brought Rocky home, people have commented that they can’t believe how docile and sweet he is. I attribute this to Val. She picked out great puppy parents and started the puppies out right. Another thing I liked was Val was very picky about the puppies forever homes.

In closing, I would like to say I am completely happy with Rocky. He is everything I wanted in a lab. I would recommend Round Butt Labs.

Valerie was an absolute pleasure to work with, from regular photos and updates of the newborn puppies through welcoming our new dog to our home, and beyond. She really cares about her dogs and helping set the puppies up to be fantastic family dogs. We'll be recommending Round Butt Labs to family friends in the future!

When we first called Round Butt Labs to inquire about a litter of puppies, we knew instantly that we had found a high quality breeder. I appreciated that Valerie cared about our readiness and preparation for the puppy, as well. Even though this was our third Labrador, she sent us a book on training, and made sure we had high quality puppy food ready to go. Once we chose our new puppy, Valerie sent us pictures, nearly daily, of our sweet girl. After we brought our puppy home, Valerie has continued to show interest in her and her growth. We would highly recommend Round Butt Labs to anyone looking for a high quality breeder and healthy pup.
